1961 W110 190 In The Wrecking Yard
« on: December 09, 2020, 01:32:46 PM »
Another fintail dies in a wrecking yard in Phoenix, Arizona. Sadly, this yard wants eBay prices for everything ($300 for bumpers?!), so I wasn't able to save anything. There is just no money to be made, which is sad because there are still good parts.

So, I made a template out of paper so I know where to cut holes in my W111's fenders to add the side-mounted turn signal lights. That was something I could afford.

So the car has been crushed?
I coulda used the wood from the dash to replace the warped mess my W111 has that needs fixing.

It might still be there. Someone else asked about the wood, too, but I think it has bakelite and plastic instead of wood.

dash wood is custom cut because the holes in the dash were somewhat custom cut.

which pieces are you looking for exactly?

Hi CTH,
Seeking the triangular end panels on both the far right, and far left sides. Car also has a Kenwood radio mounted, but I don't think car was originally equipped with a radio, so likely will need the radio blanking panel too.

In the photos the wood surrounds on the windshield and door trim look bad, those have since been refinished by the BIL....bless him!

I'm not sure I'll be back there again, but if I am, I'll attempt to pull it.
