W112 in ABQ
« on: June 25, 2020, 11:00:33 AM »
I'm sorry that I don't have the link, but there was a W112 sedan that looked fairly solid in the Albuquerque Craigslist a day or two ago. The price was a little steep, I thought, but it looked like a solid car.

And unlike the trunk badge, that's no 300sel. The outside trim is wrong as is the motor.

What little text he provides in the ad says 220sel, so he got most of it right.

Oh, so that is the one. I saw it when searching and noticed the "300SEL" badge. Looks like a 220SE and an owner with wishful thinking (though the price seems fair).

The price isn't bad when you compare it to this Santa Fe car...

That's a lot of badges! And some scary rust. Nice interior, though. Meanwhile, there's a guy in Washington with a running, rust-free 220SE and he can't even get $1,000 for it, so he's going to part it out. :(

That's sad :( I think I bought mine too early. I'm still working on it, and it finally started running  ;D

Do you have the owner's contact info? If he's parting out, I'd love to pick up some parts.

That's great to hear! You can contact him through his website https://www.turntablerestorations.com/ , but the car is way too nice to part out. It runs and needs a title (easy) and transmission work (difficult, but the price is right). I'd buy it from him and then flip it if I had the money just to save it.
