Greetings from Los Angeles
« on: June 15, 2019, 09:59:12 PM »
Hi All,

I'm Charles from Los Angeles and I just decided on a 1964 300SE Coupe project. It's in Florida right now, appears to be complete, and advertised as original. My friend will see it Monday to confirm. I also own a 58 190 Ponton. Looking forward to everyone's insight and experience on these beautiful vehicles. Here's the link to the ebay listing:

..I look forward to your feedback.

Cheers

Charles

Welcome, Charles! That's an impressive Euro coupe and a great start. It even has the elusive Behr air conditioning unit.

Thanks for the welcome Squiggle.. I ended up going in a different direction with a 1962 200se 4-speed manual. Needs some care but it's complete and runs. The shifter is a little loose, but the engine runs great. Here are some pics...

A much better choice, I think.

I love the W111 coupes. Doubt I'll ever be able to afford one, even though the prices seem to be softening a little bit. I think they have the best lines of all models of that vintage.

Good luck with the car, and be sure to post your process in the "Projects" section - I need some company over there....

I also think you made a great choice.  That looks like a nice honest car that obviously needs a lot of interior work.  Beautiful car though.
