What a beautiful car! Jealous of the color!

Parts / WTB steel brake line to front caliper 1967 w110
« on: October 16, 2020, 07:28:55 PM »
I busted the steel line from the caliper to the flex line when removing my caliper, and tried to install a replacement steel line but cannot for the life of me get it to not leak. I'm reading that flared steel lines are notorious for leaking, and I have given up on continuing to mess with this.  Does anyone have this part they could sell me so I could get on with this project?  Thanks

Definitely! Once I get all the kinks worked out I definitely plan to use it as my daily driver, although only in the summer - it has minimal rust and would like to keep it that way! BTW thanks for creating this forum, these cars are unique enough to need their own place!

Introductions / Hello from South Dakota

Hello all, I would like to share my find!
I have been driving by this house for the last two years+, ogling this very neglected 1967 200D and finally got the nerve to approach the guy and ask if he wanted to sell it. Turns out he bought it at auction in 2002 and had since driven it less than 200 miles, and the previous owner before him put a lot of work into it. So other than the interior baking in the sun it handled the neglect pretty well. I got it home, cleaned it up, changed the fluids, and after "jumping" the glowplug relay to the battery (the preglow switch was broken, I have since upgraded it to a pushbutton system) it started up IMMEDIATELY -- not even a split second of hesitation. Here's the video of the first time running, if you are interested! It runs a lot smoother now! Lots of little projects to keep me busy over the winter and beyond! I previously owned a 240D for 12 years, so have a familiarity to the car, but these are definitely different animals!
